After 8 years of the same website, Dr. Kay decided it was time for a change. He wanted a new site that looked clean and modern, could be easily updated as needed, was mobile compatible and have strong SEO characteristics.
The original site had a flash navigation bar inserted into an html page. The photos were out of date and did not include his staff. His list of services had also grown since the original site was designed.
Our previous experience taught us that people generally visit a dental site once. They use it to learn more about the office, services offered, the doctor, staff and of course contact information. After that, they no longer feel the need to visit as they already know the office and have all the relevant contact information.
Knowing this, we went with the belief that we would have one chance to impress a visitor looking for a Periodontist.
The list of key content items we wanted to integrate into the site was:
- Easy navigation with a single click taking the visitor to where they wanted to go
- Information about the doctor and his staff
- Practical information about the services offered
- Clear and accurate contact information
In addition, the client wanted a site that was clean and simple in design. He felt his previous site was to full of colour, photos and text, making the site look disorganized and difficult to read.
We chose to go with a modified WordPress theme. This allowed us to work within an architecture that gave the client everything he wanted. A number of plugins were installed to boost SEO, create an improved contact page, and manage data.
Within 30 days of the new site going live, he moved from page five to page one in Google for “Toronto periodontist”. His has also seen an increase in new patients who attribute his website as a deciding factor in calling him for a consultation.Yonge Eglinton Perio
